Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send to their device (computer, tablet, smartphone), where they are stored and then sent back to the same websites on the user’s next visit.

A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive, transmit computer viruses, or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some cookie functions may also be performed by other technologies.

In this document, the term “cookie” refers both to cookies themselves and to all similar technologies.

Cookies can be used to record information relating to the user’s preferences, such as pages visited, files downloaded from our website, or other similar actions performed while browsing.

First-party or third-party cookies

Cookies may be either first-party or third-party cookies. “First-party” cookies are cookies installed directly by the Website Owner, while “third-party” cookies are cookies installed by parties other than the Website Owner.

Types of cookies

Based on their function and intended purposes, the cookies used may be classified as follows.

Necessary technical cookies: these are used solely to ensure the proper navigation and use of the website and to provide the service requested by the user.
They are installed pursuant to Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code and do not require the user’s consent.

This category includes:

  • Navigation or session cookies: these ensure normal navigation and use of the website, for example access to restricted areas or maintenance of the browsing session.
  • Functionality cookies: these allow users to browse the website according to selected criteria, such as language or other preferences, in order to improve their browsing experience.

Analytics cookies: these are used to collect statistical information about how users interact with the website, such as the number of visitors, pages visited, and time spent on the website.

These cookies may be treated as technical cookies and do not require the user’s consent when they are used directly by the Website Owner or by third parties acting as data processors, provided that the data is collected and processed in aggregate form, direct identification of the user is prevented through IP address anonymization, and the information collected is not used for additional purposes or combined with other data.

If these conditions are not met, analytics cookies are treated as profiling cookies and require the user’s prior consent.

Profiling cookies: these are used to track the user’s browsing activity and create profiles relating to their preferences, habits, and choices, in order to deliver advertising messages or personalized content.

The installation of these cookies is permitted only after obtaining the user’s freely given, specific, and informed consent, expressed through the appropriate banner and preference management system, in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679, known as the GDPR, and the Guidelines issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority on 10 June 2021.

Third-party cookies: where cookies are installed by third parties, the Website Owner does not exercise direct control over the individual cookies installed or the related processing of personal data.

Information regarding the use of these cookies and how to give or withdraw consent is available in the privacy policies of the respective third-party providers, accessible through the links provided in this Cookie Policy.

Users may also manage their preferences through their browser settings, as described in the “Cookie Management” section.
